Located 70 miles from Key West, Dry Tortugas can only be reached by seaplane or boat, charter or private. Be sure to wear good walking shoes because cars are not able to get to the Park. Visitors usually take the self-guided tour after stopping in at the Fort Jefferson visitors' center.
Dry Tortugas Activities -
Snorkeling, bird watching, fishing, and camping are all popular things to do at Dry Tortugas National Park. Since the preservation of the Park is so vital, most activities are lead by professionals, such as scuba diving expeditions and charter fishing boats. Check at the Visitors' Center for the schedule of tours led by National Park Rangers, who can inform you about the history of the Dry Tortugas Keys and the role Fort Jefferson played in America's military history.

A Nightly Mallory Square Event -
Mallory Square is home to shops and attractions such as the Key West Aquarium and the Key West Shipwreck Historeum and Museum. It's also where artists of all stripes gather, from purveyors of T-shirts and Key West wood sculptures to street performers walking tightropes or playing guitars. Along with the tourists, these folks start gathering a couple of hours before the sun is due to set into the Gulf of Mexico each and every evening.
